সিলেটের জৈন্তাপুর মডেল থানা পুলিশের অভিযানে ৩১ বস্তা ভারতীয় চিনি ও ডিআই ট্রাক সহ ২জনকে আটক করা হয়েছে।
পুলিশ সূত্রে জানাযায়, ৫ জুলাই সাকাল সাড়ে ৫টায় গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে পুলিশ সিলেট তামাবিল মহাসড়কের সারীঘাট উত্তরপাড়ে উপ-পুলিশ পরিদর্শক (এসআই) মোস্তাফিজুর রহমান সঙ্গীয় ফোর্সের চেকপোষ্ট বসিয়ে গাড়ি তল্লাশী কারে ৩১ বস্তা ভারতীয় চিনি সহ ডিআই পিকআপ আটক করেন। এসময় উপজেলার দরবস্ত গ্রামের বাবুল মিযার ছেলে ইমরান হোসেন (২৭), টেংরা গ্রামের লুৎফুর রহমানের ছেলে মো. আকবর হোসেন (২৫) কে আটক করা হয়। এসময় চোরাচালান চক্রের সদস্য নিজপাট কমলাবাড়ী মোকামটিলা গ্রামের কটাই মিয়ার ছেলে সুমন মিয়া (২৫) পালিয়ে যায়।
জৈন্তাপুর মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) তাজুল ইসলাম জানান, চোরাচালান বিরুধী অভিযান পরিচালনা করে ৩১ বস্তা চিনি, ব্যবহৃত ডিআই সহ দুইজনকে আটক করা হয়। এই ঘটনায় তিন জনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের পূর্বক আটককৃতদের বিজ্ঞ আদালতে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে।
